The ZigBee® international wireless standard, promoted
by the ZigBee® Alliance, specifies the communication
protocol amongst devices operating in ZigBee®-based wireless
sensor networks. A typical ZigBee® compliant wireless
device has a protocol stack in it that enables communication
by ZigBee® protocol. A simplified version of the architecture
of the ZigBee® protocol stack is shown in Figure 1, which
is formed of different layers, each stacked over another.
