Q: Can we buy a number of software licenses for a single piece of hardware?
A: No. For each hardware USB dongle, only one software license is provided.
Q: Can I use the same license on more than one PC but not at the same time?
A: Yes. With a purchase for a single license, one WiSens Classic SNA hardware dongle is provided. That way, for each hardware single license is provided. The same hardware will work on another PC with the installed software. There are no restrictions on the number of installations, with as many hardware dongle purchased that many SNAs can work simultaneously.
Q: Are there any free / trial versions of software available?
A: No. Since WiSens Classic SNA software works only with the WiSens Classic hardware dongle, there are no trial versions available for evaluation that works with any standard USB dongle.
Q: How can one get software upgrades for WiSens Classic SNA?
A: Free upgrades are given for up to 3 months from the date of purchase. Upgrades beyond 6 months from the date of purchase can be done at a nominal annual subscription @ USD 195/year
Q: I did not subscribe for upgrades and would like to upgrade to a recently released version.What should I Do?
A: If the recently released version is within the first 3 months from the date you had purchased, just write to support@bzworks.com. For upgrading versions that are released after 3 months from the date of purchase, just pay up the annual subscription fee of USD 195 and notify us at support@bzworks.com.

Q: What are the frequencies supported?
A: WiSens Classic SNA supports the 2.4 GHz ISM band of frequencies i.e. all 16 ZigBee/IEEE 802.15.4 channels are supported.
Q: Can it capture frames of multiple networks operating on a channel?
A: Yes. It can capture any number of networks on one particular channel that is selected for capture. Using PANID filter, the frames corresponding to a network can be viewed for analysis.
Q: Can it capture frames on all channels?
A: No. It can only capture frames (from multiple networks operating on a channel) in a selected channel. For capturing on multiple channels, multiple SNAs would have to be used.
Q: Does it support capturing WiFi or Bluetooth or any other proprietary 2.4GHz protocols?
A: No. WiSens Classic SNA only supports capturing IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee Pro frames.
Q: Will I be able to see uniquely the different fields in a frame for each of the protocol layers?
A: Yes. WiSens Classic SNA can display headers, payload (and footer) uniquely for each captured frame for MAC, Network and Application (APS) layers.
Q: Can the WiSens Classic SNA PC software work with any standard ZigBee USB dongle?
A: No. The firmware for SNA is different from the ZigBee Protocol Stack. WiSens Classic SNA works only with WiSens Classic SNA hardware dongle.
Q: Will I be able to see any other snifferӳ saved data such as daintree?
A: No. The WiSens Classic SNA will only support frames that are captured and saved in .zps format.
Q: What is the precision with respect to time in WiSens Classic SNA?
A: WiSens Classic SNA can show time interval between packets in both milliseconds and microseconds. User has to select either milliseconds mode or microseconds mode before a capture session. The first packet in a session starts with time ‘0’ and subsequent packets have the milliseconds / microseconds interval from the previous packet and first packet of the session displayed on screen.
Q: Does it support previous versions of ZigBee Pro i.e. ZigBee 2007 and ZigBee 2004?
A: Yes. Before starting a session, user can select ZigBee 2004 or ZigBee 2007 or ZigBee 2009 (ZigBee Pro). Based on the selection, the packets will be decoded and fields displayed for the Network and application layers
Q: I have a proprietary application layer developed over IEEE 802.15.4 protocol. Will these packets be supported by WiSens Classic SNA?
A: Yes, but not fully. The IEEE 802.15.4 frame would be captured and from the payload field, users can decipher the proprietary protocol implementation for debugging and trouble-shooting purposes.
Q: Does it support proprietary profile implementation on ZigBee Pro?
A: Yes, but not fully. The APS frame payload would contain the proprietary message and user has to decipher it for debugging and trouble-shooting purposes.
